Quantic Dream surpasses everything it has done before with Detroit: Become Human. A huge script allows for a thrilling story to have multiple layers that, at the same time, deal with topics such as slavery, the human condition or the concept of identity. A real masterpiece of the genre.

The main characters, the story, the choices, the moral dilemmas, the audio, the overall experience...it all comes together in one fantastic package. Quantic Dream's Detroit is not only the studio's best game, it also raises the bar for the genre.

The man behind interactive storytelling triumphs Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls has brought us what is perhaps his most fully formed and satisfying story yet, a work that examines the concept of machine intelligence with nearly as much insight and sympathy as Isaac Asimov's finest novels about robots and just as much style as Alex Garland's Ex Machina.

Detroit: Become human is the most ambitious game Quantic Dream have ever made. It features varied stories, decisive choices, flexible gameplay, and outstanding graphics.

Even with some little flaws, Detroit is the best game ever created by Quantic Dream. You'll really feel close to the characters. Be ready for your instincts and principles to be tested.

It is a more diverse game, both in terms of the kinds of characters displayed and the sorts of choices people can make. Quantic Dream’s formula is evolving, even if it does rely on some of the same crutches.

Detroit Become Human is a game so ambitious that it can be considered brave to put the player in deeply emotional situations. It's not forgiving, and the choices are so many that you won't be free from sacrifice and pain. In a modern scene full of multiplayer stuff, going back to narrative is something we can appreciate.

What makes Detroit: Become Human a great game, though, is that even after going back through alternate narrative branches and winding down my play time, I’m still invested. The world that Quantic Dream gave me to explore is only a short leap from the one we’re living in now, and the ideas presented have left me contemplating the role AI could play in our lives sooner rather than later.

It’s great to see David Cage’s return with such an impressive game as Detroit: Become Human. A powerful narrative experience and with an amazing style.

DualShockers

You could see it as a mix of old-school adventure games with unforgettable storytelling, top-notch acting, and cutting-edge graphics, and as such it’s definitely a very successful experiment. While Detroit: Become Human is the quintessential Quantic Dream game, the additional variety and the spectacular level of craftsmanship it involves may make it intriguing even for those who used not to be part of the studio’s usual target audience.

Immerse yourself in Detroit’s wonderfully realised world, engage with its characters and stories, and you’ll love this game.

Detroit: Become Human is, without a shadow of a doubt, David Cage's best work. After almost a handful of failings, Detroit: Become Human showcases what David Cage is capable of as both a writer and a director. He isn't shy about tackling taboo topics, regardless of the backlash, and it pays off here in what is a tour de force story of overcoming oppression.

Detroit: Become Human really is like sitting down and playing a TV box set. It's a technical masterpiece on PS4 with movie quality sound, lighting and camera work, which is backed up by some top quality action and a wonderfully evocative score. Detroit really worked for me; I was gripped by the story and connected with the characters, but I think some players may have a hard time relating to Kara, Markus, and Connor. That’s to be expected. After all, we’re only human.

The mix of strong storytelling, great acting and dreamy music lead to a fantastic cinematic experience and a grand tale that is rare to be witnessed. This game will make you proud for believing in the storytelling capabilities of video games all this time.

Twinfinite

Maybe it's because all of the characters are supposed to be robots so you're force-fed story and juxtaposition through analysis, making it easy from a writing perspective. Maybe it's because there are so many different branches and outcomes to the story that they actually delivered on. Maybe it's Jesse Williams' face. Look, I really don't know. But I do know that I couldn't put Detroit: Become Human down, and after I beat it, I immediately replayed all the chapters to get the different outcomes.

This is Quantic Dream’s best game so far. A fantastic adventure that blurs the line between cinema and video games.

Despite a few storytelling shortfalls, Detroit: Become Human is stylish and slick from start to finish, and is easily Quantic Dream's best work to date.

GamingTrend

Detroit: Become Human is a cinematic masterpiece, and easily the best work to date from developer Quantic Dream. It’s gorgeous, sounds beautiful, and the choices made here are impactful and introspective. Better still, the exposed underpinnings encourage repeat playthroughs just to see where all of the rabbit holes go. Come for the storyline, stay for the thought provoking look at a potential near future for mankind, and where AI might fit within it.

Though it comes off as heavy-handed at times, Detroit tells an endearing story that verges on the profound, diving deep into the nature of humanity itself. It proves that interactivity and focused storytelling aren’t mutually exclusive and that the two can enhance each other given a proper degree of talent behind the scenes.

Detroit: Become Human is by far the most branching game ever made. Every decision that you make has its consequences, even when you just open a window. More emotional than the other games created by Quantic Dream, stunning from a technical point of view, it will mark the history of narrative games.

Detroit: Become Human is a great adventure with multiple choices, the highest peak in its genre. Great atmosphere and a story that is all in your hands.

GamesBeat

This is a story that we’ve seen a lot, in everything from Blade Runner to 2001: A Space Odyssey. It’s becoming as common a storyline as the zombie apocalypse or superhero fantasies. In each case, the story is only as good as its execution. If the characters are believable and engaging, if the story is well told, if the context and environment broadens the story, if the acting is superb, and if the actions and choices are consequential, then it is a job well done. And that’s how I feel about Detroit: Become Human.

Detroit: Become Human is without doubt the best work and climax of David Cage’s career thus far. Post-credits, one is left full of admiration for such a brave and majestic game, though still not devoid of the author’s usual flaws, namely a few not-well-executed plot twists and slightly sloppy gameplay mechanics. The tale Detroit tells us is, all things considered, just like humanity’s: powerful and imperfect.

An exciting Hollywood-esque interactive adventure with dozens of variables, and definitely the best and biggest game by Quantic Dream that makes it up for their previous failure.

I am still working to unlock floating branches on this Yggdrasil of a story tree, so I'm almost certain there are dark corners of this world that will give me more of what I'm looking for. The concept of self-aware robotic people has been explored for decades, and Detroit: Become Human makes sure you have plenty of reasons to explore it for at least more than a few hours. After all, the story, much like Chloe, shows plenty of life.

Living the life of an android is what David Cage and Quantic Dream offer us in their new game. Detroit Become Human is an emotional experience from beginning to end, a journey with three humanoid robots in a playable story-oriented narrative experience in the tradition of Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls. Yes, maybe the gameplay is different, it's not the usual fare, but the depth and consequences of our reactions make the gameplay feel organic in every action, reaction and decision we make, not just a 'you chose well/you chose poorly' thing. Visually a spectacle, the best thing in Detroit: Become Human is not what we play, but what we feel.

Easy Allies

With complex characters and an impressive branching plot that emphasizes choice and consequence, Detroit: Become Human keeps you invested in your own story and makes you eager to see what other possibilities you might have missed. It’s Quantic Dream’s strongest interactive tale so far.

Wccftech

There are some great story paths to Detroit: Become Human that can lead to different outcomes, but it's still a Quantic Dream game through and through. Expect a convoluted story that reveals itself through repeated playthroughs, characters that you grow attached to and fear to lose, and enough QTE-driven fights to make your thumbs bleed.

Even with its flaws, Detroit: Become Human marks a monumental moment in story-driven gaming. After all is said and done, the fact that your decisions have such a substantial impact reflects reality. The question is: will you make the right choices?

Detroit: Become Human is a phenomenal game. The graphics are fantastic and the acting is convincing on all fronts. But there are some misses. One chapter fees a bit weak and some choices aren’t logical. Despite that, you must own this game.

This is a transhumanism story for the android set. I devoured every chapter of these artificial intelligences shedding their artifice. And I learned that being human is filled with daily acts of self-sacrifice.

Some games allow us to escape reality, and some force us to take a long hard look at it. Detroit: Become Human is one of those games that straddles the border between entertainment and reality. The themes it covers are very real, and it allows us to get a unique perspective on societal problems we may have never given much thought to before. No matter who you are, no matter your race, gender, political affiliation, age, or economic standing, you can find something in Detroit that will resonate with you. Detroit was never an easy game to play. Many of the choices were hard ones to make, and there's no real right answer. It's a game that cautions us not to repeat mistakes of the past. My choices shaped the story and personalized it, allowing me to see those decisions play out in myriad unique ways, plot holes, clumsy controls, and all. Even as human as we are, we are always becoming human, and no matter which path you take, Detroit is our story.

EGM

Detroit: Become Human is a testament to how far the genre of interactive narrative storytelling has come and, at the same time, how much further it can go. While it might still suffer from some annoying QTE moments and a few narrative speedbumps, it delivers on promises that many other games in this genre make yet fail to keep, especially in how the choices you make can lead to very different experiences down the line.

With amazingly realistic graphics, intense music, rich characters, and a dynamic decision scheme, this action adventure title is enthralling from its opening scene to the very end, and if you let it, it will take you on a journey to what feels like an entirely different world.

Detroit: Become Human is a spectacularly crafted game that bends and branches out around the player’s choices in an astonishing and unparalleled way. Although hampered by tired central plots and some predictable, occasionally hokey storytelling, the result is a technical feat in video game development and a meticulously detailed cinematic achievement.

Game Rant
80
Detroit: Become Human may not offer much to players who don’t like this style of game, but fans of David Cage’s work should know that Detroit is definitely one of the better stories he’s crafted so far. It’s far better than Beyond: Two Souls, and while it may not be as innovative as Heavy Rain, it’s still a pretty fun ride and its incredible visuals and interesting story definitely make it worth checking out.

Detroit: Become Human is a bit too ambitious for its own good. It is not a game-breaking problem, but it does make moments that were set up to be huge a bit disappointing. If you take it slow and give your brain enough time to think it all through, there is definitely a lot to take away from Detroit: Become Human.

Detroit: Become Human is a good adventure with an interesting plot and a bunch of marvelous characters. At the same time, its gameplay is completely focused on quick time events and this could be boring if you're not ready for them.

With no doubt, Detroit: Become Human is the most advanced Quantic Dream experience. The story is more bending than ever, as your choices and actions really matter, and it's supported by great characters and acting. The narrative still has some flaws, but this is definitely a game every fan of the genre should play.

Its biggest assets are the relationship building and expansive branching paths. I keep coming back to explore its variations. Not only are they fascinating, but I cared about where I left these characters. The overall message about technology and our future lingers long after the credits roll, making me wonder how I'll handle my relationship with technology as it takes us to new places.

IGN

Though I wish its story had been handled with a softer touch, especially considering the subtlety that can be conveyed through its tech and performances, its well-written and acted central trio were vital enough to me that I found myself feeling genuine distress when they were in danger and a sense of victory when they triumphed. Most importantly, Detroit offers a multitude of transparent branching paths that entice further playthroughs, and choices have a permanence that raise the stakes throughout.

Detroit: Become Human is not for everybody, but for those who had good experiences with the Quantic Dream as a studio - or for those who love modern point and click adventure games – the game is a great addition.

Playstation Universe

Quantic Dream has delivered its most consistently focused game to date with Detroit Become Human. It does suffer for some ham-fisted allegory and a couple of instances of appallingly mawkish dialogue, but that never overwhelms the overall enjoyment you get from its entertaining branching narrative. The story is not the most subtle, nor nuanced, take on discrimination, slavery, and machine self-awareness you'll find, but it is often surprisingly poignant and touching when Cage and his team nail the blend of video game and cinematic experience.

Digital Trends

Detroit: Become Human pushes ‘Heavy Rain’ and ‘Beyond: Two Souls’ designer David Cage's vision of games as playable movies further than it has ever gone. The results are mixed, but it’s an undeniable accomplishment as an adventure game.

While there are certainly glaring issues present in some of its branching paths, Quantic Dream has managed to craft a compelling world in Detroit, enriched by fantastic performances and state-of-the-art motion-capturing.

Developer Quantic Dream continues to solidify their pedigree in creating narrative driven cinematic experiences. Aside from a few story and design stumbles, Detroit: Become Human offers an engaging adventure with great presentation, meaningful choices, and plenty of replay value.

Learning the story of Kara, Connor and Markus in Detroit: Become Human was a pleasant and engaging affair. I really grew fond of the heroes and I pondered over every decision. Quantic Dream's new game is a really good interactive movie, and the degree of non-linearity is amazing. It's a pity that the story itself is totally bland, obvious and downright disappointing; the characters are flat and cliché, and the game doesn't deliver any meaningful message - it's almost baffling how the authors could have missed such an opportunity to make a statement.

Detroit: Become Human tells a dramatic story about androids seeking to find their own way of living with and among humans. Yes, it’s a well-worn sci-fi trope, but the characters in Detroit are compelling enough to make it feel interesting again. There are some issues with controls at times and some story beats that miss the mark, but if you’re looking for a impressive story that can be played out in a multitude of ways, dig into “Detroit.”

Gamer.nl

Detroit: Become Human is an impressive game. The production value is huge, the characters are very realistic and the game offers amazing scenes. However, it does not all add up to one complete experience, as the story seems too big to be told in just this game.

FANDOM

Ultimately even its breath-taking cinematic conclusion isn’t enough to stop Detroit Become Human feeling like at best a flawed classic and at worst a frustratingly restrictive experience. Despite that, there is definitely a story worth experiencing here, and if you can endure the game’s more tedious aspects, Detroit’s branching endings will undoubtedly be spark countless chapter replays and heated conversations for years to come.

Detroit: Become Human is complicated. It’s a technological marvel with great performances and an entertaining narrative at its core. Kara, Connor and Markus are all given enough room to breathe as characters that you feel connected to all of them. I cared about where their stories would end...Unfortunately, Quantic Dream oversteps its boundaries and muddles the water with thematic elements that feel awkwardly handled.

USgamer

Detroit: Become Human is still marred by some of the issues that plague previous Quantic Dream games. Rough, ham-fisted writing and story pacing that's thrown off at times by the playable sections. I'm also pretty sure that most folks are going to get one of the more unsatisfying endings their first time around. But I like the characters, which more than I could say for the last two games. And when I finished the game, I wanted to jump back in and try out some other choices. Quantic Dream is getting better, even if Detroit: Become Human not on par with some of the better visual novels out there.

CGMagazine

Detroit Become Human is a beautiful yet deformed puzzle. The individual parts look pretty, but once you try and piece it together, it all falls apart.

GameSpot
70
Detroit is well worth playing, but it struggles to strike the right balance between giving you freedom of choice and reminding you that it's all a game in the end. Cage and Quantic Dream are getting closer to nailing this style of game, but it's obvious that there's still room to grow.

Push Square
70
Detroit: Become Human is vintage Quantic Dream, delivering a multifaceted choose-your-own-adventure that’s both ambitious and somewhat of an acquired taste. It’s clear that remarkable attention has been poured into the title's vision of the near-future, which makes it harder to suspend disbelief over some of its smaller narrative oversights. The game huffs-and-puffs, but never really brings anything new to its core theme of androids awakening to human emotions – and yet despite its relative familiarity, it’s an impressively replayable interactive story with a frightening number of variables of which there’s nothing else quite like.

Destructoid

Detroit: Become Human, like most Quantic Dream games, is filled with muddled symbolism and a spark of hope amidst its most interesting universe yet.

AusGamers

There’s value in narrative, if you don’t mind sloppy exposition, telegraphed characters and incentives as well as explosive quick time events that sit at odds with arbitrary quick time events, that sit even further at odds with ‘page-turner’ quick time events. When you get towards the game’s crescendo, which admittedly is handled excellently between the three main robot characters, and deal with ‘action’ sequences that take you out of your nanna or grandpa QTE slumber, the game feels interesting, but it’s smoke and mirrors. Acting, visuals and a relatively well-conceived future Detroit are the carrots on string here. The problem is our robot horse needs QTEs as well to get going and without enough blue blood, bled by actual gamers, it’s a hard task and road to Maple Syrup ahead.

Digital Chumps
65
Detroit: Become Human is evidence that breathtaking production isn't effective camouflage for anemic dialogue and abysmal writing. By co-opting famous racial prejudices and projecting all of them onto society's assimilation of androids, Detroit spoils its power to create convincing drama. The sense of agency and control over its story remains exciting, but archetypal plotting and cosmetic platitudes leave Detroit without much to say about anything.

GameCrate

Despite a strong connection between the choice-oriented gameplay and the script’s themes of free will and liberation, DBH’s exploration of these themes is ankle deep.

M3

Detroit: Become Human is better than Beyond: Two Souls, but it won’t be the game that turns the skeptics around. The dialogue is poorly written and it’s hard to feel anything for the characters. It’s a story that is easy to be drawn into, but also one that doesn’t have that much to say at all.

Metro GameCentral

A considerable improvement on Quantic Dreams’ previous work, and while the storytelling is still flawed its tale of abused androids feels very human.

The game believes it's a sci-fi version of Eyes on the Prize, when really it's closer to a sci-fi Kendall Jenner Pepsi commercial.

A cliche-ridden written story that has some decent ideas throughout, but is so bleak it's hard to grow attached to.

Even if you can overlook the troublesome philosophies that permeate Detroit, you still won’t find much interesting here. The story loses a lot of its charm once it goes from dealing with day-to-day android life to trying to tell a huge event that will change the shape of civilization. It falls into a common trap of video game writing, as it forces the player into life or death situations constantly. These mostly fall flat and players are left with a game that really doesn’t have much to say that wasn’t already incredibly obvious from the start.

VideoGamer

Detroit: Become Human wants to move you. It wants to elicit an emotional response through its story. The thing is, it really doesn't. The flowchart is a nice inclusion and adds some variance, but when the narrative is as cringey and ham-fisted as it is you won't want to play through it multiple times.

Eu comprei e comecei a jogar. Minha esposa jogou a demo comigo e amou.
